WoW! [Oct. 25th, 2004|08:30 pm]
[mood |draineddrained]

Wow...so, it's been, like, forever, since I last updated. Sorry about being such a delinquent, but, you know, I've got a bad case of Senioritis...
So, we're 4-1-1. Looks like we haven't learned any lessons from last year. I keep telling the guys that we can't keep going out there each weekend, and not bring our "A" game, night in and night out. Look, WE'RE MICHIGAN!! Every team's gonna be gunning for us because of the "M's" on our chests. I don't care if we're playing Northeastern/LSSU, we have got to treat every game with the same type of dedication, hard work and focus that we would have if we were to play New Hampshire. C'mon, boys, let's go out there and take care of business!!
Speaking of Northeastern, we played them and BU down in Dayton to kick-off the season (Miami was there, too, but we didn't play them). Ny was out with a rib injury, so I actually got to wear the "C" for the weekend. It was something special, but I would have traded the "C" to get Ny back into the lineup. However, that's not the reason for this sidenote. I got to meet my hockey idol, Ray Bourque, while we were down there. Ya see, his son, Chris, is a freshman forward on BU and we were all staying at the same hotel and I got a chance to talk to him for a bit. That was a real thrill...
I hate the new officiating rules! There's no way in hell that I should be leading our team in penalties. I'm friggin getting called for interference every single game, when I'm just doing my job. Totally ridiculous!! They're all stupid calls!! See for yourself this Friday night, at 7:30pm ET, when we take on Ferris State. For those of you in Ann Arbor, Comcast's airing the game, so check your local listings.
How 'bout those SOX!! Being a New Englander, you have no idea how excited I am that 1) we're in the World Series and 2) we're up 2 games to none!! Keep your fingers crossed!!
OK, gotta go. It's trivia night at Connors. Gotta jet. Later!

Sup... [Jul. 6th, 2004|02:11 pm]
[mood |pensivepensive]

So, after much deliberation, I decided to not return to Michigan for the summer. Instead, I jetted off to Vancouver and got myself a trainer. Yup, me, Gajic, Ebby and some other guys are working hard this summer getting ourselves ready for the upcoming season. hopefully, this extra training will make an impression on the team's that drafted us.
I read in the Michigan daily (online) that Al's gonna be making up his mind- on whether to return to UofM or sign with the rangers- by the end of this week. I haven't talked to him since the draft. I've been really busy, and so has he, but we have an excellent chance of winning the NCAA championship if he comes back.
So, Al, here's another plea...
PLEASE COME BACK FOR ONE MORE YEAR!! C'mon! The Frozen Four's in C-bus this year, in our back yard (sort of). Let's go out with a bang!
Hope all of you in the states had a nice fourth of july. I missed the family get together but they understand that this is important to me and my future. Anyhow, I really like it here in Vancouver. I was here last summer and the weather is just very cooperative.
Can't believe it's almost August. pretty soon, it'll be the start of my senior season. i guess time flys by really quickly when you're having fun. later for now.

Congrats! [Jun. 28th, 2004|11:09 am]
[mood |contemplativecontemplative]

I'd just like to say a quick congratulations to Monty on going 6th overall to the Rangers! it's gonna be one big, happy Michigan Hockey reunion there, with you, Dewey and Orts. in the meantime, let me just say...
Sorry, lost my composure just then...Also, congrats to Brownie and Hunny on getting drafted by the Canucks and Bruins, respectively.
I'm thinking about going back to Michigan and helping with the camps...Seems weird being back home. I'm used to living on my own and being my own man...whatever...

Hello from NH! [Jun. 22nd, 2004|12:08 pm]
[mood |relaxedrelaxed]

Sorry about not keeping up with this thing, but spring semester's finally over and i'm back at home. it's nice to finally be home to spend time with my family and friends! usually, i like to drive home but i thought better of it and flew home, b/c of what happened to me the last time i drove cross country...
last summer, gajic, ebby and myself drove all the way from michigan to vancouver to go meet up with a few of the boys (tamby and his family were gracious enough to let us take their houseboat for a few days for a well deserved getaway). the drive there, while long, wasn't too bad til we got to washington state. it was my turn to drive and it was turning dark pretty quickly. gajic was cuddled up in the backseat-taking a well deserved nap-as he had driven for the past 6 hours, and ebby was my navigator. i guess we were cruising along, but next thing i know, we're off in a ditch on the side of the road and ebby's bleeding a bit and holding on for dear life, and i've got a little bit of a headache and am gripping the steering wheel pretty tightly and gajic's in the back seat screaming "what the f*ck happened?" i had fallen asleep at the wheel. it wasn't funny, at that moment in time, but all three of us can look back at it and laugh a little bit. gajic's always giving me hell for that.
i won't be seeing many of the guys besides ny and woody, and possibly cookie since we're all new englanders. i'm just gonna take this time to relax a bit and get ready for next year. alright, gotta get some home cooking!

to the woman that has captured my attention these past few months. one of these days, i'll be capable of being in the same room with her and NOT act like a total googly-eyed fool...

picture... [Jun. 10th, 2004|02:17 pm]
Thanks a lot, Martin, for taking my picture when I wasn't even looking! If not for his mistake, this would be one helluva picture. I guess it captures my "essence," curly hair, rosy cheeks, well-coordinated dresser (but that's only to be expected as I did go to a prep school in Connecticut).

I dunno. Mosser, Woofie, what do you think?

I'm finally back indoors, and out of the rain! Let me just tell you that the rain makes dryland training THAT much more enjoyable...

The weather in Michigan is so damn unpredictable. you'd think that after 3 years of living here, i'd get used to it but you're sadly mistaken. I guess I'll take the rain and 60 degree weather over a sticky, hot and humid 90 degrees. I'm really looking forward to the end of spring term, when i can finally go back home and take in the beauty that is Rochester, new Hampshire.

Alright, I'm gonna go and ice myself and take a well deserved nap. Must rest up for tonight...

Tornadoes suck!! [Jun. 9th, 2004|03:30 pm]
[mood |grumpygrumpy]

the real ones, not the Texas Tornadoes (Marty!!). know what else sucks?? having to take cover in the basement!

Having Nystrom wake me up from my nap to tell me that the sirens are a going is not very pleasant. If that weren't bad enough, having to wake up to look up into his ugly mug is a whole other story!

How ya doin... [Jun. 9th, 2004|12:32 pm]
[mood |soresore]

My buddies, DavidMoss18 and David Rohlfs, both got the journal things so I thought I'd get one as well. I'm still trying to find a picture that will do me justice and that will capture my "essence." I'm also still trying ti figure out how to work this journal, so be patient with me.

I'm recuperating, at the moment, from the hellacious conditioning session that the team was put through yesterday. Running sprints in 86 degree weather is one thing, but running wind sprints when it's 86 degrees and humid, and pushes the heat index up tp 96 degrees is another!! it's not any better today, but i have to tread of to class now (gotta love spring semester). Later.
